Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) is aiming to assume patronage of Little Angels School in Letterkenny by September.

Ms Anne McHugh, Chief Executive of Donegal ETB, said that no date has been confirmed yet for the takeover.

However, in response to a query from 100% Redress Cllr Tomás Seán Devine at the meeting of the Donegal ETB Board in Letterkenny, Ms McHugh said it would be “ideal” for the takeover to be complete by September.

She added that Donegal ETB is currently “working through” the process.

Cllr Devine also asked if a Board of Management could be set up for Little Angels, to which Ms McHugh responded that a board cannot be set up until the school is officially signed over to Donegal ETB.

It was confirmed last December that Little Angels School would come under the patronage of Donegal ETB, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Youth and the Little Angels Association. Little Angels will become both the first primary school and the first special school in the county to come under Donegal ETB patronage.
