Returning officer Paddy Doherty hard at work in Glenties
Fianna Fail candidate John Reilly has been eliminated after the seventh count in the Glenties electoral area.
Reilly's exit means that Ardara-based Anthony Molloy will be the only Fianna Fail councillor in the area for the next five years.
Molloy will be the next person confirmed elected at the Highlands Hotel in Glenties, where the count is taking place.
Molloy sits on 1,707 votes after the seventh count, with Denis McGee of 100% Redress on 1,280, Sinn Fein pair Brian Carr (1,280) and John Sheamais O Fearraigh (1,122) next in the running.
The distribution of Reilly's 791 votes will now take place.
