Cllr Noel Jordan to contest general election for Sinn Féin
Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District (MD) of Donegal, Cllr Noel Jordan is to contest the upcoming General Election for Sinn Féin.
He joins sitting TDs Deputies Pearse Doherty and Pádraigh MacLochlainn on the Sinn Féin ticket.
A native of Inver, Cllr Jordan lives in Mountcharles with his wife and two children. He has been a councillor representing the Donegal LEA for over ten years, having been elected on three occasions.
Cllr Jordan said: “I am honoured to have been put forward by my party to contest the upcoming general election and take a seat in Dáil Eireann.

“The party always said that they would be adding to the ticket, and I’m delighted they have put their trust in me.
“It will be a historic election and having spent a good bit of time on the doors already, I know of the hunger for change that is out there.”
The councillor says he is very aware of the many challenges facing Donegal.
“During my time as a councillor, I have championed my own area and specifically the fishing and coastal communities and farming and tourism industries,” he said. “I now look forward to standing up for Donegal and these communities at a national level.
“This is a move aimed at firmly putting Donegal at the heart of the next government.
“I think my track record on the council over the last decade has been exemplary and I am excited to be given the opportunity to bring that focus and drive to Dáil Eireann and to representing Donegal.”
