Voting will close at polling booths on Arranmore at 7pm on Friday, and not at 7.30 as previously advised.
Returning Officer, County Registrar James Canny made the announcement on Thursday, saying the decision had been taken due to expected inclement weather.
Island voting times for the Presidential election on Friday, October 24 is as follows:
Árainn Mhór: 10am to 7pm
Gabhla: 11am to 3pm
Inis Bó Finne: 11am to 3pm
Inis Fraoigh: 11am to 3pm
Toraigh: 11am to 3pm

Elsewhere, polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.

On arrival at your polling station:
Here’s what will happen at your polling station:
You give your name, address and you may be asked for ID
You get your stamped ballot paper with the three candidates listed in in alphabetical order with a box beside each name
You mark the boxes with your choices in numerical format in order of preference, 1, 2, or by leaving a box blank if you do not wish to vote for that candidate.
Don’t write anything else on the ballot paper.
Fold your ballot paper and drop it into the ballot box.
Results will be announced following the count on Saturday, October 25.
