Deputy Thomas Pringle has been keeping a close eye as the ballot boxes are opened
With 50% of the ballot boxes opened in the Donegal Town count, Catherine Connolly has a clear lead.
Former TD Thomas Pringle has been a leading voice in the Connolly campaign in Donegal, and he was keeping a close eye on the ballot sheets as the boxes were being opened in the Aura Centre, Letterkenny..
He told Donegal Live: "I believe she will secure around 75% of vote. She is looking very strong with around half the boxes opened."
Donegal tally figures with 50% of boxes opened show Catherine Connolly on 66%, Heather Humphreys at 18%, Jim Gavin at 4%, and the remaining 12% representing a significant proportion of spoiled votes.
