Ahead of a big sporting weekend in the Twin Towns, it has been confirmed that Stranorlar will be open to two-way traffic for the Bank Holiday weekend.

The one-way traffic system in Stranorlar, due to sewer upgrades, will be temporarily lifted this weekend.

Ahead of a big sporting weekend in the Twin Towns, it has been confirmed that Stranorlar will be open to two-way traffic for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Diversions have been in place between McClay's Corner and Railway Road since early May.

The works, on behalf of Irish Water, are being carried out by Ward & Burke.

The company will have their plant and temporary traffic management (TTM) off the road this weekend.

Local businesses have been informed that last weekend was the final one to have TTM in place.

“Going forward all will be removed at the weekends,” a circular said.

Thousands will converge on the Twin Towns on Sunday.

The Ulster Children's Games for under-12s and under-13s take place from 10am at the Finn Valley Campus with over 700 entrants to be accompanied by families and coaches.

At 4pm, Donegal take on Derry in a All-Ireland SFC round 2 group game at Sean MacCumhaill Park with over 10,000 expected.

Finn Harps are also at home this week, with Dave Rogers' team hosting Kerry FC on Friday evening at 8pm.

Stranorlar's Blessing of the Graves has been put back a day to avoid a clash. Blessings will now take place on Bank Holiday Monday at Drumboe Cemetary (5pm) and Stranorlar Cemetary (6.30pm).
