A very good opening half from Killybegs and from Jack McSharry in particular was enough to take the league points against Gaeil Fhánada in Fintra on Saturday evening.

McSharry hit 1-7 in the opening half as Killybegs took a six point lead to the dressing rooms, 1-9 to 0-6.

The visitors came back strongly in the second half but were unable to get on terms with Seamus Og Byrne, Jack Moore with his first senior point, Rory Colyer, McSharry, Gavin Doherty, Edward McHugh getting scores to keep Killybegs in front.

Gaeil Fhánada did threaten with two goals from half-backs Calum McAteer and Oisin Shiels.
