Realt na Mara 4-12
Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin 2-23
A sending off midway through the second half proved costly for the home side as the visitors left with maximum points from sunny Gaelic Park in this Division 2 encounter on Friday evening.
The game started at a breathtaking pace and the Muff men could have had a goal from their first attack but were soon on the scoresheet from county player Caolan McColgan who hit a fine 2 pointer.
It was immediately followed by a Jamie McColgan point . Bundoran registered their first score from Adam McGlone on three minutes. A Cillian Doyle free was soon cancelled out by a superb solo effort from Ryan McGloin who crashed an unstoppable effort to the net on six minutes. Another Doyle effort was again replied to by a fine goal from Oran Gallagher who pounced on an Oisin Walsh attempt at a point to raise the green flag for the home side. An excellent score from Rory Hirrell was cancelled out by Walsh who did find the range moments later.
Kevin Doherty tapped over a free at the midway point but the visitors should have scored two goals from their next two attacks as Caolan McColgan hit the post and then saw his second effort brilliantly intercepted by Matthew Duffy.
Doherty hit his second point soon after before an Adam McGlone free and a Gallagher point edged the home side two in front.
A brilliant two point effort from Cormac McColgan levelled matters before a great team move saw the Inishowen men grab their first goal from a well taken Rory Hirrell strike. The home team finished the half strongly with Gallagher and McGlone again finding the range .
Half-time: Realt na Mara 2-7, Naomh Padraig 1-10
The visitors began the second half in a whirlwind fashion and were seven points up after 35 minutes. A well taken goal from Cillian Doyle was quickly followed by a Caolan McColgan point and a 2 pointer and another point from his namesake Cormac. But unbelievably the game was level again by the 40th minute as Adam McGlone's excellent individual effort was followed by an Anton Govorov free and then Lee Smyth and Diarmuid Spratt played a brilliant one two before Smyth palmed to the Muff men's net.
Cillian Doyle soon edged his side back in front but then disaster struck for the Seasiders on 43 mins when a Muff free was brought forward into the scoring zone but a verbal discussion between Bundoran goalkeeper Conor Carty and referee Mark Dorrian resulted in firstly a yellow card being shown and then a red.
Kelvin Mulhern replaced Carty in the goals and his first action was to retrieve the ball from a Cormac McColgan 2 pointer free.
Caolan McColgan and Michael McEniff exchanged scores as did Anton Govorov and Eunan Mullan on the 50th minute.
The extra man took its toll on the home side going down the stretch as further scores from Caolan McColgan, Doherty and a wonderful 2 pointer from a placed ball from goalie Diarmuid McKane gave the visitors a final and impressive tally of 2-23. Bundoran to their credit didn't give up and hit the final two scores but they were left wondering what might have been if they have had the full complement of players for the full 60 minutes.
