Carndonagh's convincing nine-point win over Naomh Muire ensured their safety in their first season back in Division 2, while denting Naomh Muire's chance of making the league final

Brendan McLaughlin and Keith Norris scored the goals as Carndonagh chalked up a big win over Naomh Muire, Lower Rosses, in Foden, on Sunday. 

McLaughlin, who top scored for Carndonagh, scored two of the goals and also kicked two points in a good performance for the winners.

Ryan Kelly, Fergal Doherty, Cian Doherty, James Monagle, Cian Burke, Will Quinn and Michael Noone also contributed to the scoreboard as the locals consolidated their position mid-table in the league. 

The locals came from behind by one with eight minutes remaining to score 1-7 without response, after Naomh Muire twice came from eight down.

Eoin Martin, Harry Harden, and Cathal Fee were in fine scoring form for Naomh Muire, and between them they accounted for 1-16 of their 1-18 tally.

Daniel Devlin and Jack O’Donnell also raised white flags for the men from the Lower Rosses.
