Robert Emmets got their Junior A championship campaign off to a perfect start with a win over Pettigo in Emmet Park on Sunday afternoon.

Dylan McNamee and Ryan McGirr scored the goals and Jordan McKinney, McNamee, Conor McGettigan and Rory Dalton kicked the points in the seven-point win.

McKinney capped another big midfield performance with nine points in a game that was a lot closer than the final winning margin suggests.

Shaun Robinson was once again Pettigo’s top scorer. The wing forward kicked five points with Ciaran Cassidy, Jardith Leonard, Sean Maher, Darren Lynch and John Carrigan all register scores in the tie. Pettigo had six different scorers.
