Cloughaneely welcomed Naomh Muire, Íochtar na Rosann to Páirc Naomh Fionán on Sunday for round three of the Intermediate Championship in what was a high-scoring encounter.

Cloughaneely started strong with Darren McGeever winning the throw-in and Donnachadh Ó Baoighill picking up a point from a free, which was quickly answered by a point and a goal from Naomh Muire captain, Daniel Devlin.

Two further points from Ó Baoighill and another from McGeever left the sides level for a period.

Donnachadh Ó Baoighill picked up another point for the hosts, which was then answered by a Fintan Doherty score for the men from the Banks.

A goal from a Donnachadh Ó Baoghill penalty left the sides level once more, but Naomh Muire kicked on towards the end of the half.

They outscored their opponents 0-5 to 0-1 in the latter stages, full forward Cathal Fee scoring two points and Eoin Martin finishing the half with three more, while Patrick Doohan scored the final point of the first half for the home side, leaving four points between the teams at the break.

Both sides exchanged points at the start of the second half, with Jack O'Donnell and Daniel Devlin picking up points for Naomh Muire, which were quickly answered by Donnachadh Ó Baoighill and John Fitzgerald.

A Cathal Fee goal was quickly followed by another goal from another penalty taken by Donnachadh Ó Baoighill for the home side.

Naomh Muire then widened the gap with a sequence of points from captain Daniel Devlin, Cathal Fee, and two from substitute Paul Boyle.

Shaun Maguire followed with a point for the home side while Denis Boyle posted two more for them, one from play and one from a free kick.
