Michael Murphy and, inset, Finnbarr Roarty
Donegal have received ten PwC All-Star nominations, while Michael Murphy and Finnbarr Roarty have both been shortlisted for Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
Roarty, Murphy, Peadar Mogan, Ryan McHugh, Brendan McCole, Ciaran Moore, Michael Langan, Ciaran Thompson, Shane O’Donnell and Conor O’Donnell have all made the 45-strong shortlist.
All-Ireland SFC runners-up Donegal received more nominations than champions Kerry who have earned nine nominees. The full breakdown of nominations is: Donegal 10, Kerry 9, Meath 5, Armagh 5, Louth 3, Galway 3, Tyrone 2, Dublin 2, Down 1, Derry 1, Mayo 1.
Murphy goes up against Kerry pair David Clifford and Joe O’Connor for the POTY award while Roarty’s competition in the YPOTY section is current holder Oisin Conaty of Armagh and Galway’s Matthew Thompson.
If Murphy is successful in picking up an All-Star, he would equal Karl Lacey’s record haul of four. Lacey was also 2012 Player of the Year while back in 1992, Martin McHugh picked up the POTY award.
The 2025 awards will take place at the RDS on Friday, November 7.
