Markievicz are the Donegal senior camogie champions once again following Saturday’s championship final in Ture on the home ground of Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin.

It was the second successive senior crown for the Finn Valley girls and a fourth title in five seasons.

Ciara Coulter and Aimee Lafferty scored the Markievicz goals, and the pair also posted 0-13 of their side's 0-14 total.

Lafferty scored 1-7 in total, with Coulter ending with a tally of 1-6. Wendy Patterson scored the other Markievicz point in the nine point win.

Centre half forward Sarah Lambe top scored for St Eunans with a personal tally of five points, while Sadbh Breathnach scored the St Eunans’ goal and Aoibhinn Randles, Alisha Tobin also got their names on the scoresheet.

Markievicz played with the advantage of the wind in the first. But it was St Eunan’s that got off to the better start and posted the game’s opening point courtesy of Sarah Lambe. And it also took an early Maggie McConnell save to deny St Eunans an early goal.

Wendy Patterson was up and running on ten minutes, and Ciara Coulter and Aimee Lafferty added points for the champions, with Sarah Lambe responding for the girls from O’Donnell Park.

A Ciara Coulter goal just on the stroke of half-time sent Markievicz in 1-9 to 0-4 in front at the halfway mark.

St Eunans began the second half well, and Sarah Lambe, Aoibhinn Randles and Alisha Tobin posted points before Coulter and Lafferty clicked into gear for Markievicz to pull away again.

Lafferty, after good approach play from Paige Rushe and Coulter, rattled the back of the St Eunans’ net for Markievicz's second goal to seal the win and bring her personal tally to a goal and seven points.

St Eunans battled to the end, and late on, they were rewarded with a brilliant Sadbh Breathnach goal.
