The London county finals take place this weekend in Ruislip and there is once again a large Donegal influence in a couple of teams

There is a large Donegal contingent involved in the London finals weekend, with North London Shamrocks taking on Tír Chonaill Gaels in the Senior final.

The Shamrocks are defending champions after winning their first title last year and they got to the final after beating Fulham Irish by 1-16 to 0-16.

Termon man Nathan McElwaine is captain of the side, St Eunan’s duo Ronan McGeehin and Michael Miller, St Mary’s, Convoy pair Paddy Dolan and Joe McGill, Na Rossa’s John McDyre and Ciaran Diver of Moville are all in the squad, along with Michael Carroll of Gaoth Dobhair, Gaeil Fhánada pair Conor McGonigle and Oran Blaney, and Naomh Colmcille’s Daniel Clarke and Oran Hilley.

St Michael’s man Peter Witherow is manager, while part of the management squad includes Ciaran Greene and Stevie Collins of St Eunan’s and Brian Conaghan of Killybegs.

Tír Chonaill Gaels are the most successful side in London, and will be looking to get their 19th title.

Among the Donegal contingent on the Gaels team are Ryan McCready of Na Rossa, Glenswilly’s Shaun Wogan, Michael Greene of Naomh Muire and David O’Donnell from Burt, while Liam Gallagher, Kieran Clarke, and Aidan McGarvey have strong Donegal connections.

The sides meet at 2.30pm in McGovern Park, Ruislip.

The North London Shamrocks are also in the Junior B final as their reserves take on Fulham Irish, with Greene involved along with St Eunan’s clubmate Matthew McGovern, as well as Pauric Gillen of Moville and Owen Scally from Dungloe.

Throw-in for the Junior B is at 12.30pm, also in Ruislip.
