Gaoth Dobhair got their U-21 A championship campaign off to a winning start with an away win over Dungloe in Rosses Park on Sunday afternoon.
Six points separated the sides at the finish with the visitors, who were chasing a third U-21 A title in four seasons, laying the foundation for the win in the first half.

Playing with the advantage of a strong wind, they led by eight points, 2-6 to 0-4, at half-time with Oisin Diver and Cathal De Burca scoring the goals. Danny McCready and Damian McGowan, with two points each, scored the Dungloe points.
The hosts did come more into the game in the second period and thanks to points from Damian McGowan and Paddy Bonner, and Patrick O’Donnell goal, made a game of it.
But with the eight-point half-time cushion, Gaoth Dobhair did keep them at arm’s length and ran out winners on day they had seven different scorers to Dungloe’s four.
