Dungloe 0-11
Naomh Conaill’s ability to find the net paved the way for a fine win over Dungloe in this second round U-21 A championship clash in Davy Brennan Memorial Park.
Powered by senior championship winners Finnbarr Roarty, Max Campbell and Shea Malone, Naomh Conaill ran out with 11 points to spare over a battling Dungloe.
Playing with the aid of a strong wind, Naomh Conaill laid the foundation for the win in the opening 30 minutes and traded ends 2-7 to 0-1 at half-time.
Stephen McDevitt and Tiarnan Ward raised the green flags that sent in them in 12 points up at the break.
Dungloe, courtesy of big second-half performances from Jordan Saville, Damian McGowan and Karl Magee, did make a bid for it in the second 30 minutes and outscored the locals by ten scores to nine.
But the foundations were laid in the first half and Naomh Conaill kept them at an arm’s length as they chalked up a second win of the campaign.
