Tanya Kennedy had penned a new two-year deal with AFLW outfit Sydney Swans.

The Irishwoman has inked a fresh contract to remain in the Harbour City until at least the end of 2027, following a career-best season where she averaged 19 disposals and eight tackles.

Castlefin native Kennedy is one of eight players to extend their stays Down Under with fellow Irish girls Julie O’Sullivan and Paris McCarthy also recommitting until at least the end of 2026.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – AFLW Football, Amanda Turner, said it was pleasing to have secured the eight re-signings.

“It’s fantastic to have a mix of youth and experience re-commit to our club,” Turner said.

“We’ve been really happy with what we’ve seen from the young players in our squad and know they will continue to be well guided by our senior players.

“We believe all eight players are an important part of our future and we are excited to see what they can achieve moving forward.”
