A look at the nine new faces named in the Donegal panel for the McKenna Cup

While the match against Derry was postponed, and a point awarded to each team with no time for the match to be replayed, fans missed out on a first glimpse of the side, but the panel named gave us plenty of insight to the new look squad

A look at the nine new faces named in the Donegal panel for the McKenna Cup

Termon's Cormac Gallagher and Eoin McGeehin of St Eunan's were both named in the panel for Sunday's game

 

Pádraig Mac Giolla Bhríde (Gaoth Dobhair)

With Shaun Patton out and Gavin Mulreany named to start against Derry, many eyes would have gone straight to the bench to see who was the substitute goalkeeper.

And given his form in his first year at senior level, Mac Giolla Bhríde isn’t a shock inclusion.

The Gaoth Dobhair goalkeeper was an important player as the Donegal Under-20s made it to the Ulster final, eventually losing out to All-Ireland winners Tyrone.

He carried that form into the club season and helped his Gaoth Dobhair side to reach the county final, narrowly losing out in extra-time.

The teenager loves to come out of his goal and join the attack, while he also has a great kickout on him.
