While the match against Derry was postponed, and a point awarded to each team with no time for the match to be replayed, fans missed out on a first glimpse of the side, but the panel named gave us plenty of insight to the new look squad

A look at the nine new faces named in the Donegal panel for the McKenna Cup

Termon's Cormac Gallagher and Eoin McGeehin of St Eunan's were both named in the panel for Sunday's game

 

Kieran Gallagher (Naomh Conaill)

Another star of the Donegal Championship, Gallagher was arguably one of the top three players in the competition.

Gallagher returned from Vancouver after three years away in early 2025, and it was a massive boost for Naomh Conaill.

With the absence of Ciarán Thompson, the big midfielder was crucial for Naomh Conaill when it came to winning 50/50 kick outs at either end and more times than not, he came out on top in that regard.

Gallagher added the odd score, powering forward from midfield, but his influence in the Dr Maguire returning to Davy Brennan Park was crucial.
