Shea Malone couldn’t have asked for a better Donegal debut as he was named Man of the Match in the McKenna Cup match against Antrim.

The Naomh Conaill forward hit four points and was a constant threat to the Antrim defence at Erins Own GAC Cargin.

Malone helped Jim McGuinness’ men to a 1-15 to 0-7 win against the Saffrons.

The Glenties man, formerly on the books with Sligo Rovers before focusing on GAA this year, was one of ten debutants for Donegal on Sunday.

Ultan Doherty, Kieran Gallagher and Max Campbell from Naomh Conaill, Paul O'Hare of Naomh Columba and Four Masters duo Turlough Carr and Conor McCahill all made their first starts, with more coming from the bench in the form of another Donegal Town native, Kevin Muldoon, Cormac Gallagher from Termon and St Eunan’s Eoin McGeehin.

Malone was presented with his award by Kieran Megraw, Ulster GAA delegate for Antrim, and Tommy Doherty, Bank of Ireland.
