Donegal minor boss Karl Lacey was happy to get his first competitive game in charge of the team on Saturday, despite their draw with Antrim.
Donegal began the League campaign with a share of the spoils, but after having a free week in round one, it means they are now thick and fast into the action with four games in as many Saturdays.
“The league games are going to come thick and fast now, so it’s important that we keep our heads down. We have a big game to look forward to next Saturday against Monaghan and then Armagh the following week.
“We’re just delighted to get into that cycle of games, training during the week and then into games, so it’ll be a nice focus now for us.
“It’s great to get the competitive games up and running and get into the league format to get continuous games now every weekend.”
Lacey’s lot were held by the Saffrons in Dunsilly by a score of 0-17 apiece as the home side levelled the game in the dying seconds, which will have been a disappointment for the Four masters clubman.

“We’ve been carrying a big squad, and things are going really well at training, the boys are applying themselves really well.
“We got a nice test against Antrim, they played last weekend, so that kind of fed into their performance there. You could see the hunger and the hurt after getting beaten by Derry last weekend.
“I think we may have failed to match that hunger and work rate for that first game.
“It took us a while to get up to the pitch of it but we’re just delighted to get up and running and get a competitive game.
“We got a look at a good number of players there, and we’ll build that over the course of the league so we’re happy out.
“They’re an absolute credit to work with, and they’re a credit to themselves, their families and clubs. They’ve come in and they applied themselves really well every night in training.”
Donegal’s next game out is Monaghan in Convoy at 12pm on Saturday.
