Termon, the reigning Division 1 champions, got the defence of their league title off to a bright start with a five-point away win over Gaoth Dobhair at a windy Magheragallon on Saturday evening.

The three-point scores helped the visitors to a 2-9 to 1-3 half-time lead, with wing forward Liam Breathnach scoring the Gaoth Dobhair goal.

Daire McDaid was in fine form for the reigning champions, finishing as his team’s top scorer with a personal tally of five points. John James Sweeney scored three points, including a two-pointer. 

Anthony Grant and Bobby McGettigan scored two points each, both from two-pointers, while goal scorer Cormac Gallagher also added a point for the winners.

Termon, under the guidance of Caolan McDaid, won the club’s first Donegal Division One League title last season.
