Daniel Clarke was named the London GAA Senior Club Footballer of the Year at the London GAA Awards night on Sunday.

The Annual Gala Dinner Dance was held in the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick, with former Naomh Colmcille star Clarke picking up the top accolade.

He helped his North London Shamrocks side retain their London Senior Football Championship title as they beat Tir Chonaill Gaels in the London decider by 3-7 to 0-13.

Clarke, who played for the Donegal Under-21s and was a senior panellist, got an important goal in that closely contested final and was an instrumental part in his side’s defence of the title throughout the tournament, along with a heavy Donegal contingent.

St Mary’s, Convoy man Joe McGill got three points, while Michael Carroll of Gaoth Dobhair and Moville’s Ciaran Diver both hit a point in the win in McGovern Park.

St Eunan’s duo Ronan McGeehin and Michael Miller both started, while Convoy’s Paddy Dolan and captain, and Termon man Nathan McElwaine both came off the bench.

John McDyre (Na Rossa), Oran Hilley (Naomh Colmcille), Conor McGonigle, and Oran Blaney (both Gaeil Fhánada) were also all part of the squad, managed by St Michael’s man Peter Witherow, whose backroom team includes Ciaran Greene and Stevie Collins of St Eunan’s and Killybegs man Brian Conaghan.

The Newtowncunningham man was part of the Naomh Colmcille side who famously won the Ulster Junior Club Championship in 2017, becoming the first Donegal side to pick up the accolade.
