Declan Duignan and Joe Campbell - on the mark for St Naul's
St Naul's 1-15
Naomh Colmcille 0-6
St Naul’s added another two league points in their first home game at Gerald Gallagher Memorial Park as they hosted Naomh Colmcille on a blustery wet evening in Mountcharles.
The home side had the aid of the breeze blowing into the Town goals in the first half and were well on their way when they led by 1-10 to 0-1 at half-time.
Even at the start of the second half, St Naul’s were able to outscore the visitors and the result was never really in doubt.
They were sent on their way at the start with a two pointer from Declan Duignan before Naomh Colmcille had their only point of the half from a free.
St Naul’s then hit 1-8 without reply with five from Duignan, 1-1 from Joe Campbell and a point each from Freddie Cullen and Thomas White. The goal from Campbell came after an excellent move.
White, Jonathan O’Driscoll and Joe Campbell were the second half scorers for the winners.
Both keepers also made good saves in the second half. It has been a good start to the league for St Naul’s with two win from their two games with new manager Kevin Lyons only appointed shortly before start of campaign. They are without their three county players and the team sheet is also short of a Griffin with Stephen and Barry still to make an appearance this season so far.
