ATU Donegal Freshers boss Luke Barrett.
ATU Donegal’s Electric Ireland HE GAA Freshers Football Championship opener against University of Galway, scheduled for this evening, is off.
Torrential rainfall for the past week has resulted in the pitch at the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy been deemed unplayable.
It took some real effort in the hours leading up to throw-in on Tuesday night for the venue to pass a pitch inspection as Maxi Curran’s ATU Donegal Sigerson side lost out to DCU.
However, with little to no let off since in terms of the amount of rain that continues to fall, Luke Barrett’s young charges opening championship fixture has now been postponed.
Their next scheduled outing is next Thursday when they go away to ATU Sligo.
