Donegal will have new faces aplenty as they take on Galway tomorrow in their Lidl National Football League Division 1 opener against Galway in Tuam, throw-in 2pm.
Maxi Curran has handed debuts to Saskia Boyle from Dungloe, Laoise Ryan of St Eunan’s, Termon's Ciara McGavey and Cait Gillespie, who lines out for Aodh Ruadh. Shannon McGroddy from Downings has returned to the fold and Emer Gallagher will captain the side.
Donegal are without a host of key stars, including 2022 TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year, Niamh McLaughlin, Geraldine McLaughlin, Yvonne Bonner and Karen Guthrie.
For Galway, Kilkerrin-Clonberne’s All-Ireland Senior club champion Lynsey Noone starts, with clubmate Chloe Miskell named on the bench, but a number of more experienced KC players will be eased back into the county set-up in the coming weeks.
