Johnny McGroddy from Downings will make his first Allianz League appearance for Donegal against Kerry today
Donegal manager Paddy Carr has named the following team for their Allianz League Division 1 opener against Kerry in Ballybofey today throw-in 2pm.
With Ciaran Thompson, Michael Langan, Eoghan Ban Gallagher and Oisin Gallen out injured, joining long-term absentees Odhran McFadden Ferry and Paul Brennan, Carr had said a decision would be made on goalkeeper Shaun Patton "at the 11th hour." However, with the St Eunan's netminder unable to field, Carr has opted for Gavin Mulreany in goal having lined out in the Dr McKenna Cup against Monaghan.
Mark Curran, Caolan McColgan, Jamie Grant and Johnny McGroddy are all in for first league starts. Patrick McBrearty will captain Donegal against the All-Ireland champions and the game is live on TG4.
