Caolan McColgan, who made his first Allianz League appearance for Donegal on Sunday, has been voted GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.
The promising Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin wing-back received 3, 901 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Meath's Shane Walsh from Meath on 3, 027 and Roscommon's Niall Daly, who got 2,168.
McColgan, who struck three points from play, announced his arrival on the inter-county stage with a hugely impressive, all action display as Donegal defeated Kerry in Ballybofey 0-13 to 1-7.
Meath made a satisfying Allianz Football League Division Two start against Cork in a high scoring match at Páirc Uí Chaoimh with the excellent Walsh contributing 1-7. The experienced Daly thundered forward to kick three splendid points for Roscommon in a stirring Allianz Football League Division One win over Tyrone at Dr Hyde Park.
