Patrick McBreaty in action against Tyrone earlier this month
Donegal GAA have confirmed that Patrick McBrearty is in with a chance of lining out against Monaghan on Sunday in the Allianz League Division 1.
It had been reported that McBrearty is facing a lengthy lay-off, however, manager Paddy Carr has communicated via Donegal GAA to say the county captain will undergo a fitness test ahead of Sunday's fixture in Clones.
"Donegal have a crucial Round 3 Allianz League clash with Monaghan in Clones on Sunday," reads a statement from the county board. "Contrary to media reports captain Paddy McBrearty has not yet been ruled out and manager Paddy Carr is disappointed on being misrepresented in the media regarding the injury that McBrearty picked up in the Tyrone game. He said that Paddy will undergo a late fitness test on Sunday morning. If he passes he will play as selected."
