Big names sign on as MacCumhaills get set to host health and wellbeing event

MacCumhaills will stage a wide ranging and varied health and wellbeing community event on Saturday, February 25, with some of the county’s biggest sporting personalties guest speaking.

The event is open to anyone involved with coaching/mentoring players or athletes, with parents of underage players invited to attend. Also, any athlete/player over the age of 16 can also come along.

Already confirmed to attend will be Finn Harps boss Dave Rogers, Donegal senior football stars Oisin Gallen and Dr. Deirdre Foley, world handball champion Avril McNamee and coach, sports and exercise nutritionist Shaun McGlynn.

The topics that the aforementioned will cover include: Would you like to learn more about injury management? How do you enhance recovery through appropriate nutrition? To get the optimum performance, what fuel is best for competitions and training? Is mental health a contributing factor to an athlete’s performance?

Proceedings get under way, on the day, at Jackson’s Hotel at 2pm. During this exciting event you will get the opportunity to raise questions to our panel of leading sports stars and get their viewpoints.

The first 50 people through the door will also be entered into a draw to win a voucher for a one to one nutritional consultation with Shaun Mc Glynn or a physical assessment with Avril McNamee.
