ATU Donegal overcome DCU to book place in the  Lynch Cup final

ATU Donegal boss Barney Curran.

ATU Donegal are through to this afternoon’s  All-Ireland Higher-Level- Colleges, Lynch Cup final following this afternoon’s semi-final win over Dublin City University. 

ATU Donegal 4-18: 3-6 DCU  

Centre half-forward Emma Howe and full-forward Ciara McGarvey were in fine scoring form for the Barney Curran managed side. 

Between them the number 11 and 14  accounted for 4-10 of their teams final tally. 

Dublinliner Howe hit an impressive 3-5 while Termon ace McGarvey ended the tie at the Connacht Training Centre, in Bekan with a personal tally of 1-10. 

Codie Walsh from St Mary’s Convoy and Gaeil Fhanda’s Mary Harkin were the other ATU scorers. 

Ater a closely fought opening half the ATU girls turned in a big performance in the second half to come from two down at the break to run out convincing 15 point winners. 

They will now play University Cork in the final in the Dome at the Connacht Training Centre. Throw-in in for the final is 2 pm.

UCC defeated Cork MTU in the other all Munster semi-final also played today, at the Connacht Training Centre.
