Ryan McFadden on the ball for Termon against St Eunan's in the U-21A Championship last year
A Ryan McFadden goal with essentially the last kick of the game gave Termon a winning start to the year with a three-point victory over Dungloe.
Termon 2-5 Dungloe 0-8
They advance in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta after a 2-5 to 0-8 win at the Burn Road on St Patrick's Day giving Trevor Alcorn his first win as senior manager in his first competitive game in charge.
Termon lead 0-5 to 0-4 at the break with five different scores in the opening half - Anthony Grant, Steve McElwaine, Aaron Reid, Jack Alcorn and Bobby McGettigan. Noel McBride, Shaun McGee, Daire Gallagher and Daniel Ward pointed for Dessie Gallaghers side.
Termon's only scores in the second half were goals as Oisin Cassidy netted the first just five minutes in, to put them four up but Dungloe responded with three scores from McGee (2) and Ward. Daire Gallagher almost had the visitors ahead but would hit the post as Dungloe found themselves hunting goals. With the hour played, Oisin Bonner pointed to level the tie 1-5 to 0-8.
It seemed the game was heading for extra time but Termon were given one last chance as McFadden would find the back of the net in a crowd goal mouth to set up a tie with Cloughaneely in the next round
