An U-16 Ladies game in Bundoran on Tuesday night had to be abandoned after the referee was confronted after an off-the-ball incident.
The game, between Bundoran and MacCumhaill’s, came to an abrupt end after MacCumhaill’s mentors and others came onto the pitch to confront referee, Eugene MacHale, after they were unhappy with an incident in the game, which happened half way through the first half.
After attempts to calm the situation, the referee took the action to call off the game and his report will now go to the Ladies Board, who will adjudicate on the matter.
