Late drama in Division 2 as Milford and Dungloe share the spoils

Kyle Black's goal meant it finished honours even between Milford and Dungloe

Kyle Black scored a late goal to grab Milford a share of the league points with Dungloe at Moyle View Park, on Sunday afternoon.

Milford 2-15 Dungloe 2-15

Black struck for the equaliser in the first minute of injury time at the end of a cracking contest littered with top class scores from both sides. And with a total of 34 flags over an hour of football supporters got good value for their admittance fee.

Dungloe, with Matthew Ward, Barry Curran and Oisin Bonner leading the way, were the better side in the first half.

They led 1-8 to 0-7 at half-time. Oisin Bonner scored the Dungloe goal and Cathal McGettigan, Darragh and Shane Black and Tony McNamee carried the main threat for the locals.

Noel McBride extended the Dungloe lead out to seven points early in the second period with Dungloe’s second goal.

But the Milford response was almost immediate. Cathal McGettigan in from the start having been a late replacement against Burt, in the first round stroked over a Milford point.

And seconds later Dungloe young goalkeeper Damian McGowan  was plucking the ball out of the back of the net after being beaten by Tony McNamee.

The margin was now down to three points 2-8 to 1-8 with 20 minutes on the clock.

Play swung from end to end in the remaining minutes and Dungloe just seemed to have done enough to leave with the two points when Shane Black struck for goal number two for the sky blues.
