Donegal are bidding for All-Ireland minor camogie success tomorrow when they face Tyrone in the All-Ireland Minor C Camogies Shield final in Randlestown, Co Antrim.

Donegal competed in a group along with Tyrone and Louth, playing  both home and away.

“We are really looking forward to the final,” Donegal camogie secretary Marie McGill said this week.

“They are a really good team and they have improved in every game. They are managed by Derek Kelly, St Eunan’s, and the panel  is made up of five clubs - Burt, Carndonagh, Markievicz, St Eunan’s and Dungloe.”

After losing to Louth in Convoy and Tyrone at home and away, Donegal booked their place in the final with an away win against Louth in Darver last Tuesday night.

Louth also lost both home and away  to Tyrone and following last week’s game ended level on points with Donegal with Donegal booking their place in the final on score difference.

Donegal defeated Louth 9-13 to 2-0, which was a huge turnaround from their second round 9-9 to 0-6 defeat by the Wee County at the Donegal GAA Centre.

“The girls have improved with every game and we also got a number of girls back playing and the team has got stronger as the championship progressed,” the secretary continued.

“We have a much stronger team now compared to when the championship started at the beginning of last month.”

Tyrone take an unbeaten run to the final but Donegal will be encouraged by the fact after losing the opening game of the championship to Tyrone by a  whopping 34 points, there was only five points between the teams in the second meeting, at Kildress.
