Patrick McBrearty of Donegal in action against Chrissy McKaigue of Derry during the Ulster SFC of 2021
Donegal have named Patrick McBrearty on their panel to take on Derry in the second series of fixtures in the All-Ireland SFC, with two changes from the team who won in Clare.
Aidan O’Rourke’s side put in a fine second half showing at Cusack Park in Ennis, winning out 0-14 to 0-9 and on Sunday at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey at 4pm take on Ulster champions Derry, who drew with Monaghan 0-14 to 0-14 last Saturday at Celtic Park. McBrearty has been an absentee since picking up a hamstring injury in February against Tyrone in the Allianz League.
Jason McGee made a huge impact from the bench in Clare and the Cloughaneely midfielder is named at midfield for Sunday in place of Rory O’Donnell, with Caolan McColgan in for John Ross Molloy. Red Hughs’ Stephen McMenamin missed out with a heel injury last time out and Naomh Conaill’s Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí, who was sitting exams at UCD, are both back on the panel.
