Joseph McGill hit a late point as London almost pulled off a shock win over Laois at Parnell Park in Tailteann Cup Group One.

The Convoy native was a 55th minute substitute for the Exiles, who has Daniel Clarke from Newtowncunningham and Termon's Nathan McElwaine in their starting lineup.

London, who have Michael Boyle from Termon as coach, were 0-11 to 0-5 down at half-time but got ahead by two thanks mainly to Enda Lynn and Henry Walsh, who both scored 1-2, only for a free by Paul Kingston and then Niall Corbet managed to level matters in the fourth minute of injury time. Laois 1-17 to London's 2-14 was the final score, which was enough for Laois to clinch a preliminary quarter-final place next weekend.
