Neighbours Cloich Cheann Fhaola and St Michaels met in what was an interesting encounter at Páirc Naomh Fionán on Sunday afternoon.
Cloich Cheann Fhaola 0-8 St Michaels 4-2
Jason McGee lined out for the home side while an injured Michael Langan looked on from the sideline as his side got the better of Cloich Cheann Fhaola.
In what was a low-scoring first half, Conor Coyle opened the scoring and would go on to score another two points for Cloich Cheann Fhaola before half-time while Andrew Kelly picked up the first point for St Michaels which was followed by a fisted goal from Paul Johnston which left a point between the teams at half time.
St Michaels started out strong in the second half with a goal from Ciaran Kelly which Jason Mc Gee answered with a point, one of three from the intercounty player. Andrew Kelly widened the gap between the teams in the 14th minute, scoring a penalty awarded to St Michaels which was followed by another goal from Colin McFadden and Kelly finished the game with a point for his side. Conor Coyle and Ciaran Scanlon secured two points for the home side before the final whistle which left six points between the teams.
