Action from Letterkenny Gaels' clash with Milford in Division 2 of the All-County Football League
Milford picked up valuable points on a blustery Sunday afternoon at Pairc na Gael, with the assistance of county players Rory O'Donnell, Dylan Dorrian and Kane Barrett to overcome the resistance of the home side.
Letterkenny Gaels 1-7 Milford 1-14
Milford lost midfielder Lorcan Friel to injury at the throw in, thus prompting the introduction of O’Donnell. The visitors opened brightly with scores from Matthew McLaughlin, Paddy Ferry, Shane Black and Cathal McGettigan while the hosts responded with scores from Adam Duffy and Ronan Frain. Gaels took the lead briefly when Cormac Cannon finished to the net but the Milford response was immediate with a goal from Kyle Black. O Donnell and McGettigan added points for Milford to give them a 1-6 to 1-2 lead at half time.
Gaels reduced the deficit with a Ronan Frain point in the opening seconds of the 2nd half but McLaughlin and Barrett steadied matters for the visitors. Further scores from Finn Coll, Shane Black, McGettigan(2) Barrett and a ‘45 from Conor Gormley completed the scoring for Milford while the home side responded with scores from Cannon(2) D O’Cathail and Liam McAlary.
