Donegal's reward for defeating Meath in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship and topping Group 2 is a home draw in the quarter-finals of the competition in two weeks' time.

Maxi Curran's side produced a fantastic 1-10 to 0-12 win in Navan to confirm their place in the last eight and were paired with Dublin in the draw that followed. The other quarter-finals see Kerry welcome Meath, Armagh home to Cork and Galway play host to Mayo.

The semi-finals were also drawn, with the winners of Donegal against Dublin taking on Armagh or Cork, then whoever comes out on top of the Kerry versus Meath clash to face Galway or Mayo.

This means Donegal and Dublin will play in the quarter-finals for the third year in succession, with Carrick-on-Shannon the venue in each of the last two seasons. In 2021, Dublin were winners on a 2-12 to 2-7 scoreline. Then last year, two goals from Karen Guthrie helped Donegal gain revenge in a 3-7 to 1-7 masterclass.

In 2020, the sides met in the group stages, with the winner effectively taking the semi-final spot. In the season disrupted by the pandemic, it was a quarter-final in all but name in the three-team group that also included Waterford. Dublin won 2-13 to 2-10 with the differential being a freak Sinead Aherne goal, who shot for a point only to see the ball rebound down from the upright and spin into the Donegal net.
