Donegal men on both sides as Kilkenny face New York in All-Ireland JFC final

There will be Donegal men involved with both parties this afternoon as the All-Ireland JFC final takes place at Croke Park.

James Carroll from Gaoth Dobhair scored five points for Kilkenny in their 1-13 to 0-15 semi-final win over London on Friday at the GAA Centre of Excellence in Abbotstown, with St Mary’s Convoy official Enda McFeely the referee on the night. 

Patrick McConigley of Gaeil Fhánada - an Allianz NFL Division 1 winner with Donegal in 2007 - is a selector with Kilkenny and former Finn Harps defender Johnny Dunleavy from MacCumhaill’s is also part of the playing panel. The London panel included Ryan McCready and Ryan Griffin, whose fathers are from Donegal.

Kilkenny won the competition last season and this afternoon they face New York at Croke Park in the curtain-raiser, at 1:30pm, to the Dublin versus Derry All-Ireland SFC semi-final. 

On Friday, New York won their semi-final on a 1-17 to 0-7 scoreline against Warwickshire, with Ardara’s CJ Molloy lining out at full-forward. Charlie O’Donnell from Ballyshannon is the manager of Warwickshire.
