Donegal Masters GAA team will contest the semi-final of the Masters Shield competition on August 26th. The draw for the Shield competition has yet to take place, but they will have Cork as one of the four involved.

The other two participants in the Shield competition will be decided after play-offs which are set for the weekend of August 12th.

Donegal finished in 7th position after the league section, winning four of their six games. They were just behind Cork, who also finished on eight points.

Tyrone finished top, winning their six matches, on 12 points while four counties, Derry, Dublin, Galway and Kerry finished joint second on 10 points.

At a special meeting last night, Galway and Dublin were drawn to compete for the Cup along with Tyrone while Derry and Kerry must play off for the final top four position.

The winners of Derry and Kerry will be in the Cup draw with the losers included in the Shield semi-final draw.

The final spot in the Shield competition will be taken by either Laois or London who face a play-off also on weekend of August 12th.

The semi-final draws for the Cup and Shield will be made after the play-offs.
