Jim McGuinness was manager of Donegal from 2011 to 2014
Donegal GAA have called a Special County Committee Meeting for Monday night, where it’s expected Jim McGuinness will be put before the clubs of the county for ratification as senior team manager.
Donegal County Committee usually sit on the first Monday of each month - unless it’s a bank holiday - so their next scheduled meeting was down for September 4. However, clubs of the county have been informed there is a special meeting in Convoy on Monday evening on the position of manager.
McGuinness is understood to have agreed on a deal in principle to return as manager of the Donegal senior footballers, nine years after he stepped away from the role. During his spell in charge between 2011 and 2014, Donegal won three Ulster SFC titles, the 2011 Allianz Division 2 title and the 2012 All-Ireland.
