Former Ardara star Ryan Malley helps Scotstown to Monaghan SFC title

Ardara native Ryan Malley was part of the Scotstown side that clinched the Monaghan SFC title on Sunday with a 0-17 to 0-14 win over Inniskeen.

Jack McCarron starred for the winners, hitting 0-6 while the likes of Rory Beggan, Shane Carey and Conor McCarthy all hit two points each. It was the club’s eighth title success since 2013. 

Elsewhere, ex St Naul’s player Daniel Brennan was part of the Kilmacud Crokes squad that edged out Ballyboden St Enda’s set-up in the Dublin SFC County final. Former Four Masters player  Leo McHugh was a second-half replacement for Ballyboden in the 1-14 to 0-9 loss. 

Galway All-Star Shane Walsh hit 1-2 while Dublin sharpshooter Paul Mannion weighed in with three points as Crokes completed a historic ‘three-in-a-row’.
