Emlyn Hughes (inset) is set to become the new Donegal GAA Children's Officer.
Four Masters clubman Emlyn Hughes is expected to be recommended as Donegal GAA’s new Children’s Officer.
Donegal Live understands that Hughes’ name will be put forward for ratification by club delegates at a specially convened meeting of the county committee this evening.
Hughes and the outgoing Children’s Officer, the former Donegal GAA Chairperson Mick McGrath, were vying for the role.
An independent committee comprising Oliver Galligan (Ulster), Gearoid O’Muilvihill (Leinster) and Michelle Glackin (Connacht) were appointed to select a candidate and, following that process, it is now expected that Hughes will be elected on Wednesday night.
The names of Michael McMenamin and Gary Duffy were also nominated, but they withdrew.
