Shane McGrath in action for Aodh Ruadh against Gaoth Dobhair
Shane McGrath of Aodh Ruadh was part of the UCD team that opened their Sigerson Cup with a resounding win over ATU Galway.
The Ballyshannon native - a Management Consultancy student - played centre-field at Liam Mellows GAA Club in Galway city, as his team ran out winners on a 1-22 to 1-5 scoreline. David Garland from Monaghan hit 0-6 and Meath's Diarmuid Moriarty 0-5, while Barry McNulty grabbed the visitors' goal.
Conor Roarty from Naomh Conaill played corner-back for ATU Galway and Pauric Love of Kilcar is also part of the westerners' panel. Ulster University welcome UCD next week, with ATU Galway taking on UCC.
