Sport Ireland Coaching Director Michael McGeehin, left, presents a CDA Certificate to Ardara club man Anthony Harkin
Former All-Ireland winning coach Anthony Harkin has recently graduated in Sports Coach Development at a recent Sport Ireland Coaching ceremony in Croke Park.
The Ardara man was the team trainer under Brian McEniff when Donegal captured their first Sam Maguire Cup back in 1992.
Sport Ireland Coaching marked the graduation of 96 Coach Developers and Coach Developer Assessors, of which Harkin was one of them, from 18 national governing bodies last weekend.
This also marked the first time that Sport Ireland Coaching, as a QQI service provider, awarded the Certificate in Sports Coach Development.
This highly recognised diploma allows Harkin and others to assess the development of Coach/Instructor Developers and with this degree, coach developers are deployed by their national governing body to train and support coaches and instructors in their sport.
