Four Donegal players were involved with Ulster University as they proved much too strong for UCC in the All-Ireland Freshers A quarter-final played at Ardclough, Kildare.

The Belfast College ran out easy winners 3-14 to 0-7.

Karl Joseph Molloy of Ardara and Ryan Barrett of Realt na Mara, Bundoran started in the forward line with Aodh Ruadh's Eoghan Kelly in his familiar No 6 position.

St Michael's Max Roarty was one of the other Donegal players used as a substitute.

Three other Donegal players are part of the UU panel - Aaron Cullen, Aodh Ruadh; Eoin McGonigle, MacCumhaills and Adam McGeever, Gaoth Dobhair. And the side are managed by former Donegal minor and U-21 player, Anthony McGrath.

The Donegal players played their part in the win with Karl Joseph Molloy scoring 0-3 and Ryan Barrett 0-2 while Eoghan Kelly was man of the match.

Ulster University now play University of Galway or DCU next week in the semi-final. DCU overcame ATU, Sligo after extra-time in their quarter-final.

Queen's are the fourth team through to the last four but Ulster University cannot be paired with them as the sides have already met. The draw for the semi-finals is to be held on Friday morning, February 2.
