Donegal Masters side that won the All-Ireland Shield back in 2022
The Donegal Masters returns for the 2024 season with county trials starting this Wednesday for anyone over the age of 40 looking to play county football.
The management team are holding a player meeting where they will also be registering players for the coming year in the Seán MacCumhaills ground in Ballybofey on Wednesday evening February 21 at 7pm.
Glenfin man Francie Martin takes over as team manager this season and will be joined by Eddie Crawford of Glenswilly.
Donegal have enjoyed success in the Masters competition in recent years winning both the Cup and Shield competitions, but they lost out last year in the Shield semi-final, bowing out to London by 2-11 to 2-8 at the Errigal Ciarán Grounds in Tyrone.
Martin is a former Donegal senior footballer and was also part of the Donegal Masters panel which won the All-Ireland title in 2002 and 2003, and he hopes to bring his knowledge and experience to the table starting this Wednesday in Ballybofey.
