Ghleann Fhinne 1-4
Gaoth Dobhair opened their Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta campaign with a big win over Ghleann Fhinne at a wet and windy Magheragallon on Saturday afternoon.
Steven McFadden (2), Niall Friel and Cian McAteer scored the goals for the locals in the win over the men from the Gaeltacht Lár.
Jason Marley scored the goal for the visitors while Odhran O’Connor and Odhran McGlynn were the point scorers for Glenfin.
The first half was evenly contested and the first of McFadden’s goals separated the teams at half-time as Gaoth Dobhair led 1-3 to 0-3.
But the floodgates opened in the second half and thanks to a second McFadden maximum and one each from Niall Friel and Cian McAteer, Gaoth Dobhair dominated the second period to run out 14 points winners.
